A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
