BF6 Players Concur: Missions Are Excessively Difficult
The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.
Gamers have begun turning to custom matches created through the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how grueling these assignments have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Tasks
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four categories of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring twelve from the forty-one main guns available in the game.
A number of these locked weapons might eventually make their appearance on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and maybe a classic map in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.
But when tackling the tasks in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for completing them in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are toned down in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.
Currently, the audience continues to express their views on these demanding battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in coming revisions.
